Thinking of hitting GOS and over to Tuckermans tomorrow (4.16.08). What do people think the temps will do? A big High pressure is coming in. Will the temps and/or solar gain be enough to soften up the snow? I'm calling in sick and don't want to make the trip unless I can get above treeline. Any input would be great! Z=

surf88-

So would you say it's a go?

The summit forecast calls for:

In the clear under mostly clear skies. Wind chills 0-10 below early, rising to 15-25 above.
Highs: rising to the upper 30s by sunset°F
Wind: W 20-35 mph

Should this be enough to soften it up?

just my thoughts, today's highs will be 10 degrees less at 50 for jackson and most aspects should soften. tomorrows high for jackson is 60 so , definitely a go above treeline. winds can be a factor but, not with highs like we have for the next few days. if anything it'll get soupy deep even after the refreeze tonight with such warmth tomorrow. i'll be heading up for the next few with early starts to avoid the skin up heat wave, well, if i don't say friggit and head to the loaf instead to ski at the epicenter of late season lift served corn. lap after lap of 2800 vert with lift assist has haunted my dreams lately.
have fun
