At risk of catching -- .... this is why I love MRG... not only is this allowed, {shhh} it is encouraged {/shhh}. Wish I were there, especially that last paragraph :D

There were many people enjoying Mad River in a variety of ways, some of which were curious. Most folks were tele skiing. The place was crawling with them. There were a few alpine skiers, and of course snowboarders. I saw a parent in a mini-van pack eight teenage snowboarders into his vehicle, and sped up the Gap - he probably was shuttling them to the top of the Practice Slope. I observed snowshoers and hikers. Two teenage males built a pile of loose snow, and were jumping off the roof of the garage/ski patrol building with their snowboards into the pile. Other youth built a large ramp on the top of Porcupine to launch big air.

There were two guys had whitewater kayaks and paddles. Maybe the name of our ski area {sic} had confused them. Nevertheless they were descending the Practice Slope at speed, wisely with legs outside the boat on the front deck so they could bail out of the ride if needed. {T4T note: those of you that don't know, the practice slope is so named because it is where the ski teams practice, not because it is easy. It is a blue square and at its steepest it is as steep as many place's black diamonds}

There were some folks doing a photo shoot for some fashion magazine or
catalog using the Single. Two female models were all gussied up in foofy
clothes, fur, and tight pants, sitting in contorted positions on one Single
chair together, at the base loading ramp. A photographer was busy snapping their pictures while an assistant held a large reflector disk for the flash. Something was missing though - Stevie was not there in his woolies to assist them!
