Skied this weekend....

I mean I actually put on skis and skied...

I had my old Solomon boots and checked out my friends Solomon 1080s... 170cm...
What a trip! those things TURN!!!!

It kicked as$.... Was in the bumps by the end of the first day....

DMC - I have a pair of 1080's, and haven't had a bad day on them yet. I'm even starting to love them on hardpack vs. trees and bumps. TONS of fun in powder!!!!! They FLOAT!!!! :skiplow:

Ya I went skiing this weekend to,
Ski Sundown in New Hartford CT.. Conditions were very slushy, but I wanted to try out my new skis

I am also learning to go more than one way: Took two telemark lessons 1/1 and 1/2. What fun and a great way to start the new year! Its soooo neat!making tele turns on green slopes and "mono" turns on the easiest green. Tried to go onto a beginner blue and couldn't do squat. Had to alpine my way down, which was ok. Hope to work on it over the season. in between teaching.

It was absolutely awesome to get on new skis... The last I rode were huge K2 SLCs.
It soooooo easy to turn shape skis... All I had to really do was keep my wieght on the balls of my feet and roll one knee into the other...

I hate to say it... but - I kicked a$$.... I was cranking moguls by sunday... Didn't go for any big air... maybe next time...

Learning Telemarking this weekend..... Psyched!

I crossed country skied over the holidays. It was pretty damn fun. The poles are really good for jabbing snowshoeing types.

Hey DMC,

I went the other way too. I borrowed my brothers Burton Board and took it out for a rip on the 27th. I haven't been on a board for a few years. When I first stood up a immediately fell over backwards, I don't think it had anything to do with how much we drank the night before. After that it all came back to me. Too bad the conditions sucked.

I've also been X-country skiing as well. Went out yesterday for a bit while the lifts were busy. I'm sore today.

A long, long, long time ago I competed in a mogul competition..
I got through the first 2 heats and made it to the semifinals. While I was getting ready for the heat( hex(1A4) ).... I noticed I bent a ski and also noticed I was going against a friend who could kick my a$$ with a broken leg...
I knew I couldn't win - so I raced on my old K2 snowboard. The judges couldnt find any rule against it at the time - so they let me do it... My friend CREAMED me.. But the crowd loved it when I totally killed myslef on the second kicker - tried to do a 180 starting fakie to foward and totally lost balance in the air...

That's awesome man, I'm glad you still rock to sticks. Maybe someday I will snowboard again...you are an inspiration to us all!
