Spent the weekend of the 15th at Tucks.
Tuckerman Trail up: Very icy on sunday morning on my way down. I didn't ski down, but heard you can still ski 1/2 way on sketchy conditions. Turned to dirt maybe 4/5 of the way down.
Bowl: Lots of snow int he bowl still. Very few of the headwall rocks peeking through, but lots of ice along the ridge. The waterfall has just started on saturday on the right gully.
Saw where the avalanch let go on thursday and hurt that guy on the far right. The warnings were all there. We were up in the hourglass on friday and were a little hesitant cause the snow was packed. A couple ice chunks fell sat morning, but nothing car-sized.
Thursday snow in the bowl was styrofoam, not soft but easy to cut, and saturday was mostly mashed potatoes, with some foam on the steeps.
Lots of time left to ski the bowl I think.
