Hi all. Quick summary on conditions at Tuck's on Saturday... TONS of snow... TONS of wind.

Yes TONS of snow. The trail head for the Tuckerman Ravine trail is covered with about 4ft of snow still. Well packed trail of snow all the way up. Tons of snow at Hermit Lake. In fact most of the Lean Too's were literaly buried in snow.
It was VERY windy. In fact we were almost blown over by wind just hiking over from the overflow parking lot.
Tuckerman Ravine, Hillman's Highway, Dodges Drop, Dutchess and Little Headwall had excellent snow coverage mind you the snow was bullet proof in a lot of areas. The Right side of the ravine was the best bet once the snow softened by mid afternoon.
Hiking the Tuckerman Ravine trail past the little headwall was a blast (the wind was pretty fierce. Once in the ravine many hide from gusts of wind behind the few exposed rocks. By mid afternoon the ravine did warm up enough to make the stay in the ravine enjoyable.
The trip out from the Ravine via the little headwall is in great shape. The Sherburne ski trail is well covered with lots of moguls. I'd expect it will be completely open well into May.
A few skiers opted not to ski or quite early due to the hard conditions missing out on much better conditions by mid afternoon as the sun warmed up the east side of the bowl.
Most skied the right side of the headwall and right gulley or opted for Hillman's Highway. We watched some hair-raising wipeouts from the top of the headwall which was rock hard. (apparently it had rained quite a bit a few days before).
Local NH ski areas all have excellent coverage but most closed for the season by the end of the weekend. Wildcat (opposite to Tuckman Ravine and Mt Washington) is apparently open till May 6.
