Looking at coming up that way with a bunch from the SE to hopefully ski Tucks on 4/11-13'ish, roughly 8-12 people. Are there any places around North Conway that are A) cheapish and B) have a liberal cancellation policy that people could reccommend? Same question for the Killington area (backup plan).

Thanks.

At that time of year, I wouldn't worry about finding a cheap place to stay. There are tons of places to stay in the MW Valley and that's really off-season (not for us) so there will be plenty of options. If there's a chance you may have to cancel I would just play it by ear and find a place when you get up there or the day before. You will have no problem finding plenty of cheap lodging options from motels to condos. Last year Attitash had some condo deals (www.attitash.com) in April and the Seasons at Attitash also has nice condos and a clubhouse with an indoor pool, sauna and big hot tub: http://www.seasonsnh.com/

As for motels... take your pick. There are a ton of them up there and at that time of year you should have plenty of options for about $60/night give or take.

I've stayed at the Yankee Clipper in N. Conway many times. Cheap, no frills. One free breakfast ticket per room.

At Killington, the Val-Roc is cheap, but it's pretty barebones. Dan, the owner, will often negotiate the rate. For something a little nicer, with a great little free breakfast, try the Killington-Sherburne Motel, just past the Access Road on the left if you're heading toward Rutland. Really nice folks that run that place.

The Royalty in Gorham was OK. There's a health club on premises with a big indoor pool and hot tub. Rates were pretty cheap.
