View Full Version : Tuckerman related gifts?
Did anyone else get tuckerman related gifts?
My 3yr old Anna got a pair of skiis from Santa.
And I got a Saxa-ma-phone! (Didn't there used to be a gremmy for that?) It's a real saxaphone, in a nice hard case. I love it. I think I mentioned wanting one like 3 years ago, and got it this year. Total suprise. Suzy is the master gift giver.
So I consider this a tuckerman related gift, and most of you will know why. Can't wait to kibitz with saxman about it!

Santa brought a new headlamp (replaces my old not functioning one)
and some new fleece to keep me warm on those blustery nights.
Also got some ski tickets to Attitash and Sunapee. Whoo Hoo!

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, happy Honika (spello) or whatever you might/might not celebrate!
Tucks related gifts? Hmmm... well I received several ski type ornaments (we collect ski related stuff) which certainly is related to Tucks. Also a high performance heavy duty wine opener which would come in handy at Tucks. A long sleeve shirt to keep warm at Tucks. A portable DVD player for watching Tucks movies. Cabin candles to keep toasty at Tucks. Oh and a ski theme coffee mug for siping a beverage on lunch rocks. Received a gift of money to spend at the Pinkham Notch Visitors Center.
Only none Tucks related gift therefore would be the game of URU which is awesome.... mind you I am quite dizzy at this time from playing it and there is no skiing involved.
Santa did not deliver on the promise of fresh pow... and we are now basking in sunshine and slush. Skiing has been delayed. Bawk!!!!

Saxa-ma-phone! (SWEEEEEEET I used to play the alto sax.....
I used to play in high school too - haven't touched one in decades - and it came right back. I think playing the recorder a bunch recently might have helped too.

Collapsible Ski Poles to help me get up and down and all around. Fog Lights for my Jeep to help me get there if the weather is....foggy. And a new Patrol pack which does nothing for my Tucks experience except that I'll be wearing a backpack full of stuff on most of my ski days.
For weather we got our second rain storm in a row and it looks like a third in couple of days. Boooo....Rain....You Suck!

One of the mumlets got me a bomb-proof camera case for my new :camera: . Now I'm all set to :camera: while on the slopes.
(Thanks to Dave and others who suggested companies for these).
I wanted an ice ax too, but the hubby didn't like the vision of me :skifemcool: around with it.

Almost forgot that I returned a few things and picked up a Lands End down filled jacket at Sears of all places for $50 bucks, I was ready to drop $150 and get a Marmot down jacket. Then picked up some down gloves at EMS.
Sure wish I had those on my last trip up to Tucks.

this year the wife and i decided to buy each other no gifts...instead we MADE our own, and on December 5th Abigail :snowdream: was born (she was originally due on the 20th) but came abit early. i guess you could argue that she is in fact a tucks related gift. soon enough i will be hauling her on up to the ravine. the wife did haul her up over the summer, so i guess the next time it's my turn!
my dad did get me a hand powered flashlight though (doesn't take batteries)
Welcome little Abby....she's a real Christmas presence!
Santa just got himself a pair of bright yellow T5950 Radios. Charging up now!
