View Full Version : Yahoo
I wish everyone would just accept Yahoo Instant Messenger as the IM of choice.
I'm not saying it's the best, I'm saying it's what most of my crew uses.

But do either of those messaging systems allow the sending of offline messages? Or an automatic message history so I can remember what I or the other person said day and weeks from now? They might have that functionality now but ICQ had it 8 years ago.
You too can come into the light :D
The only reason that I keep an AIM secondary account around (curses) is to communicate with those people who are still so computer naive as to think that it's the only option available or the best thing around.

Word,
I don't even have Yahoo because I don't know a single soul on it. I can't wait until ICQ fully allows AIM users to be on its's list. Then I'll get rid of that horribly cumbersome to use AOL piece of garbage! ICQ is the SHEAT!
I have tried Yahoo a few times though, and while it is much better than AIM, it still doesn't have a lot of the options which ICQ has. I do think however that ICQ selling the rights to AOL was a HUGE mistake and has slowed its progress and use as a result.

I don't use IM too much, but when I do, I have MSN & AIM. I don't know ANYONE who uses Yahoo, so I've never even tried it. Anyone else ever heard of Trillian? That seems to me to be the best solution...

My crew uses MSN!
I like it mostly because you can display an avatar (and there's a great addon for it called Plus! that gives you a plethora of extra options and allows you to install plugins, log chats, etc)
But like NH_Tele just mentioned, you may as well use trillian if you're leaving anybody out using yahoo or whichever IM prog you use.

ICQ was the **** until now. Yahoo voice chat is the king of voice, and I have used them all. When gaming online with friends, Yahoo is the way to go.

OK, we've been through this before in regards to AOL. I, being computer iliterate, chose AOL b/c it's very easy for me. It does the job. I do work with technology "stuff" at work, but it's usually to monitor someones' life. Had to vent, thanks. :snowflakes:
