Inferno race

Hey guys. With the Inferno Race running April 18, 19, and 20, I was wondering if parts of Tuckerman Ravine will be closed off on Saturday, April 19 where the skiers will actually be racing down?

Yes: A single trail somewhere near the ravine will be closed. The trail choice is based on conditions. I think they would choose the lip first, but last year the used HillMan's becuase nothing in the bowl was safe enough.

If you're planning a trip, I wouldn't let this trail being "closed" worry you. There are many descents, and avoiding one trail isn't a big deal. I think when they had it on hillman's, I dunno if it was completely closed to everyone else.

Of greater concern would be the number of people who will be hiking up and in the bowl. If you're not into crowds (I for one, am!) then it's not your weekend.

Saturday sounds like a good day to be somewhere other than the bowl! But then again it could be pretty fun too..
I wonder how the GOS is holding up?

We're up Thursday through Saturday Afternoon...
