Had another sweet day at Smuggs today... Hit a nice little stash appropriately named HIGHway, as well as some other nice tree runs.
Here's a couple of shots of monster Mansfield next door. :sun: :sun: :sun: :sun:

I had an incredible day at Jay on 12/27. My weekend started by driving up to Jay from Bethel on 12/26 to go skiing, only to find out that the mountain was closed due to high wind. I wasn't about to waste a drive up to jay so I grabbed a cheap hotel and hunkered down for the night. Dawn Patrol the next morning, first tram up, fresh lines down Valhalla and for most of the day. Jay reported about 12 inches of fresh from two days ago, but no one could ski it with the crazy wind the next day, so fresh pow was had. Had to go into the woods to get the nee deep powder, any exposed area was wind scourn and icy. Skied all day under blue sky in deep powdered glades. Love it!

Very nice pics. Glad to see someones getting snow. Don't get me wrong we are open, it's just not the best skiing. Then again, I can't complain, I ski to work. :D
Day 10
Kewl pix. Glad someone here is out this week. I hope to get north soon - gonna have to settle for Hampster trax until I can score a day at Jay. Can't wait to spend my sugarbush ticket either.

sugarbush was pretty sweet yesterday. would have hit smuggs for the 1/2 bash badge rate, BUT i got better and got a free ticket at the bush from my ski patrol buddy. first "real" day out as i only count my first trax day as just that (early season k-mart conditions)
nice pix elwood, gonna hit stowe with the brother in law on thursday...
BTW the super secret stashes at the bush were still fairly intact yersterday. mmmmmmmmmmmmm secret stashes.......

Just got back from Jay.....really warm...lots of rocks but still pretty sweet. I am in VT until the 4th and the wife is working every afternoon till then. So far been to Sugarbush, stowe and jay. Want to hit smugs and Bolton (cheap like the budgie) and maybe jay again if they get snow after the r#%n tonight.
Let me know who is around and wants to ride.

Terrific. Mine don't come out nearly as well -> maybe it's the difference between the Pocono mountains and New England -> 800 foot ski areas with groomed, blown snow just isn't as conducive to great pics as powder, majestic peaks and natural evergreens.
Did you use a wide-angle lens?
And, do you have a bomb-proof camera case?
NHski

I just used the lens that comes with it(10x optical zoom). It was my first day skiing with this camera and I have a case that is just big enough to fit the camera and some extra stuff. I skied with a backpack and had it on my hipbelt. Was somewhat nervous with it there, but the falls were in powder so it wasn't bad on the camera. I think i need to do some research on how careful i need to be with water and snow getting on the camera.

Location Location Location, and my location sucks. (as far as good skiing goes) I went for a walk in the woods today with the dog, and all I needed was a long sleeve t-shirt. However, that and my pants quickly became too hot. Let's see... it's almost january and I'm ready to go to shorts and a t-shirt? Houston, we have a problem! I wonder if there are any government scholarships for being a ski bum...
