I'm looking to get up to NH/VT (preferable NH so I can hit up IME) this weekend and am looking for suggestions on trails that have good cover for shoeing/touring. The gf wants to try out snowshows and my naxo binders and skins are finally in, so I wanna try out the new toys. I don't really care about the skiing downhill part, I just want to try out the touring function of the binders. Anyone been out on any trails recently that might fit the bill? or which notch (pinkham/crawford/franconia) I would have the best luck with?

Not wanting to be a nosey Parker....but I see some trouble there.

You can check the touring function in about five minutes on a golf course. Or you could just assume that the folks making Naxxo's know what they are doing. Face it you are itching to slide about on those babies...and who wouldn't be?!?

Take a deep breath, count down to zero from twenty and consider what is truly important:

..if the GF is snowshoeing....and you want the plus sum gain of quality-time spent...go snowshoeing!

Good point RR. Mixed modes + GF = trouble. Oh, and I see that you want to hit IME too... you're in big trouble.

If you really must try out the naxo's this weekend, I suggest make it a very quick 10 minute skin up the bunny slope at Wildcat or Bretton Woods, then strap on the snowshoes for a nice hike with the wife.

A power outage at Wildcat has the mountain out of service until Friday.

Today Monday, December 3rd, Wildcat is closed and will remain closed due to an unforeseen power outage and now scheduled preventive maintenance later this week to ideally avoid future power related events. Wildcat Mountain, working with P.S.N.H., is expecting all work to be completed by Friday, December 7th and for daily operations to resume then.

enjoy the tryout, and have fun snowshoeing! Don't forget to smile (and think your actually skinning)!!! :D
