Welcome in the club, Bannick !
On my side, I follow Thredbo in Australia and Coronet Peak in New Zealand for 3 summers now. At origen, I was following almost all the ski areas in the southern hemisphere, but I decided to not exaggerate too much and just follow those 2 ones. I should check more the conditions in South America, like I was doing in 2001.
Thredbo have a very good year, this year. The season was enough fast and they got twice over 2' of snow in a storm. Even the lower mountain is completely white actually, which is really rare in the valley.
In New Zealand... ouch, what a bad snow year, up to now. A lot of terrain opened for the first time this week in Coronet Peak after a 6" little storm last week.
I don't know how Whakapapa/Turoa are, this year, but I don't think the first will remain open until january this year... like last year ! (it's quite rare to say a "2002-03" season for a ski area in the south hemisphere ;) )
