I'm a new member to this site, I was wondering if anyone is planning on skiing tucks anywhere around March 22?

Honestly I think thats kinda too far down the road to lock in an exact date.

I usually try to get up there a few times, and one of my favorite times is the end of March, then sometime in Apr, and then again in May.

always try to be somewhere in the mountains that day.

i don't follow as closely.
although in late Feb,early March, i start to gettin the TUX itch.

That's been a perfect weekend the past couple years, just thinking about it is driving me nuts!!!:envy:
I used to try to plan pretty far in advance, then I realized that it works better to just tell my buds to keep thier weekends open and :beer: fully stocked for when its just right.

Dedicated souls have been making turns as soon as the ice climbers leave in December....but boy oh boy, is it steep!?!?!

February usually sees high avi danger for most of the month....but after a bit of stabilization, February Powder can be real sweet at Tuckerman Ravine. A word of warning...Feb and early March have a lot of slides. Not a good place for the unwary, unprepared or hubristic.....unless they have a death wish and no concern for the safety of folks charged with digging them out...dead or alive.

i skied it the day before halloween two years ago, that is highly unnormal tho...

It's good in March and April for the big lines and May for the fun..

March 22? Maybe... it IS a bit long ranged to decide. Lucky for me, I'm only 2 hrs away and I usually decide that morning or night before.

As for earliest? I've skied in mid December but there really wasn't much base and my rock skis hated me after that. They were scrapped after that adventure with blown out edges and gouges deep into the base.

It's best to take a wait and see approach..... pencil in dates instead of pen.
