OMFG, those are the coolest pics I've seen in a long time! Are those pics of HoJo's under construction?! Might Joe Dodge himself be in one of those? Crazy-cool stuff. Thanks a ton for sharing!
WOW! One of those (sl 1952 0A, the last slide) is an aerial shot, showing Hillmans, Tucks, the Raymond Cataract, and the summit, as well as a piece of the Gulf of Slides/Boot Spur! Amazing!

I'ld wing it. I have a few old planks but no leather up boots.
That's wonderful stuff. Too tired to say more.
That's the kewlest set of Tux pix I've ever seen - talk about dedication to capturing the experience and sharing it.
Holy contrast of things that change and things that stay the same - I love it. LOVE IT!
Mad rep.

VERY COOL!!! We see the classic old shots of the bowl, but not the shots of folks like us in the parking lot gearing up, and along the trail. Wearing their shorts, just like us on a spring day, except for the 6 foot planks strapped to their packs! Thanks/reps for sharing.

Skilas probably owns and has skied on some;)

Yeah, I think for me that's what really hit home about these pics, too. How little, if at all, Tuck's (and the mountain in general) has changed. It's all so familiar, yet so different somehow, because of the look of the participants, I suppose. Yet the timeless quality of the Tuck's experience really shines through. It's somehow so reassuring, so right.
I'm just incredibly fascinated by these images. I sent them to many of my friends, some non-skiers, because I think they transcend just skiiing and Tuck's. They really are a slice-of-Americana piece of history.
Thanks again, dboo.
Another thing is... These people are all up there based upon word of mouth and not TFT...
My first trip to TUX was just a disastor.. i had know idea what I was getting in to.. just some info gleaned off a guy on a chair ride at Killington... And a general location.. :)

Now that's flyin' on a wing and a prayer! Unforgettable intro to the TUX magic.

hey, thanks for the comments guys...
nick would've been pleased to know you're enjoying them....these tuckerman pics had been squirreled away in an aspen basement for many years.
you all would've gotten a kick out of the old man as well...lived, loved, and did his own thing...

Incredible historical goldmine. :)
Thanks for posting the link here.
Happy to see some people keep stuff and don't throw it all away like they so often do. I remember the rewards and frustration in trying to find old stuff like pictures after my dad past away a few years ago. The early 50s, my dad could have been there, his ski instructors/skibum days which later over a decade.
six tuckerman sets from 1970 (in addition to the 1952-54 pics) posted at flickr... many camping, hojo's and shelter pics:
http://flickr.com/photos/dboo/
all photos taken by the late nick dewolf.
thanks again from the dewolf family for your interest in these old pics...
Dunno if anyone is as intrigued by these photo's as I am: But one of the frequent character's is this guy:

Tux, Some good looking Boston Concerts + Events, R/C Planes... the only thing missing is some pix from Fenway or something. Interesting pix to say the least.
