I am from Georgia, but I have heard of the legendary skking up there. I have three options of when I can go. Right after Christmas, Early April, or late MAy. Which would be the best time to go?

This was my second year. Last year I went up at the end of may. Plenty of snow...had a great time. This year I went up mid-may. TONS of snow...had an excellent adventure (we did get more snow this year). Next year I plan on going early to mid april for great skiing and skiing out via the sherburne ski trail. I have yet to see it open myself. The skiing is great usually through the end of may!!!
Have Fun!

My personal choice is the last weekend of April. Of your choices, I'd go Early April if you are going for the Skiing and late May if you are going for the Partying! Bear in mind that the nights in early April will fall into the single digits (or colder) and the days will often be windy in the teens (or colder) - SherpaKroto

I have been up the first weekend in May and it was fabulous. Thinking of trying it out his weekend as a last hurah, will let you know how it goes.

Will, if you're going for the skiing, April or May is the best time, definitely NOT late December. It takes much of the winter for the bowl to fill up with enough snow to cover the rocks and cliffs. Also, the brutal weather, short amount of daylight, and avalanche potential can make Tucks a dangerous place to be in the depths of winter. Have fun!
