With the current forcasted conditions how much longer do you think tucks will be in decent condition? A week..ten days...more/less? The Sher trail should be at half by this weekend if not already. Some insight will be helpful. Thanks everyone

Exactly 2 weeks, 3 days, 13 hours, 4 minutes, and 27 seconds..........

No one can predict the future. Just wait and see. Prolly at least a few more weeks though. Maybe longer.

Well, you already know where to look for the official reports as well as the Trip reports here. I'm leaving in half an hour for the weekend over ther and will report back on conditions Sunday night or monday morning. I'm sure others will chime in as well.

When I went up this past monday, I skinned in shorts and a long underwear top. Never got cold, all the way to the top of left gully, despite the fierce gusty wind. Was able to work down around the open water on the little headwall and skiid to the bottom of the sure-burn. The last couple pitches were pretty bare but it was doable. Still, it goes fast. Any bit of skiing that cuts out hiking down is worth it, in my book!

Watch the weather and pick a good day and it won't really matter what the conditions are like. as far as snow in the bowl, on monday you could ski pretty much anywhere you wanted - in places I had never seen skiable in April. Next weekend (when the weather is supposed to be good) that may not be that case but the usual suspects(left gully, et al will still be full for quite a while...)

Just go!

Kind of depends on what you consider decent. Decent for April, Decent for June....

just hoping to have conditions skiiable (is that a word) from lip to bowl or close to it. Still raining and I have not made it up yet this year.

I think I can skip work and go either nest Tuesday or Friday:skicool:

you should be fine. just read footlong's TR and my own when we get back, along with the others that will be posted. you should be fine. TUX is missing the brunt of the rain on this storm, and it might actually help us towards softening the snow.

That's exactly it. I've seen people ski a couple of hundred feet of July snow and have a blast doing it (myself included). It's all about perception. I figure that any day of hiking and skiing is better than a day of just hiking. Then again, a day of just hiking is better than my greatest day working.
