Mt. Snow reopened for this past Saturday and Sunday. Sunday was a sick powder day. They have since closed again. With any luck the new management will rethink staying open later in the upcoming seasons, weathr permitting.;)

Smuggs is done as of this past Sunday. Full coverage and dumping snow all day....we took Abbey (3) in the woods off Madonna but it was a bit deep for her 67 cm long skiis to navigate...

This is presenting me with decisions I generally don't have to make... get into the backcountry to harvest some corn or lap a HSQ to hit some quad busting mashed potato bumps... choices, choices!

Or you could take the quad to do some backcountry, or slackcountry as some call it.

Just got an email from an Interwest bump north of Toronto this morning...the are gonna reopen for the weekend and spin one chair....they got lots of lake effect at the end of march and early april....making up for the fact that they didn't open till mid January this year.

And I have a MTB race on sunday and a golf game on Saturday....sheesh....it is like whister overlap out here....sailing in the morning, siking mid day and 9 holes to finish the day....

Got up to Sugarbush yesterday with my son. Not a cloud in the sky. Even hit some 2 day old mashed potatoes - impossible to turn in. Every trail was opened - hit middleearth (totally covered) and rumble (as covered as I've seen it). Ripcord should be the pick of the weekend.

It is warm up there but the snow we saw should hold through the weekend and into the next week.

'Loaf and the River in Maine have extended to April 29th. Haven't heard yet about free Ski-Maynia day on May 1st. Almost want them to close so I can skin/ ski the goods. Unbelievable spring!!!

Wilcat on Saturday was truly unreal. Wife's birthday is next weekend - she could ski for free, but alas her sisters are coming in from out of state. I guess I'll take the opportunity to take the x-mas lights off my shrubs!

I skied Jay on Sunday with the family and Monday solo. It was great on Sunday with plenty of cover but a warm wind Sunday night seemed to make a lot of snow disappear by Monday. My kids stuck it out all day Sunday. One is still snowplowing so I can't imagine how he held out in the mashed potatoes as long as he did. Props to little Dan! Skiing was still excellent. Skied the face chute on Monday and it's about done. Still plenty of cover and they will close due to lack of customers rather than lack of snow. For such a slow start to the year it sure is going out with a bang.
