Hey, just for fun (or at least for the fun of those of us who love to track weather), share what the storm is doing where you are, throughout the day.

Loon powder day tommorrow! hopefully more than predicted.

POWPOW pleasure to be had tomorrow!

Anyways...... Precip has paused here in Sunapee for a short spell but looking at intellicast radar map, it has now pushed us deep into the wretched green zone with thick patches of yellow and orange! Nooooooooo! :( It must stay cold! It must stay cold! It must stay cold!

I will refrain from any more updates so as to NOT jinx the frozen precip potentials.

Glad to see others are sharing my enthusiasm (although, I'm itching to get the garden started...).

At 1pm, it is big, fat flakes coming down a with a good breeze.

A quick call to Smugglers revealed the following, "Snowin' like a sum' *****!" ( I get my snow reports from the lifties - less spin.). The accumulation was hard to tell due to wind.

I could be wrong on the location of Mt. Washinton on this map (thanks for posting!)(perhaps someone else could confirm) but it appears the snow/rain line is just about in N. Conway. Obviously, the weather on Washington will be a bit different in Conway but it will likely impact the moisture content.

You're correct that the snow/rain line is essentially in N Conway... Mt Wash is almost dead on the corner of that perfectly horizontal county line(E-W) as it jogs towards the south.

NWS Hourly Reports from the summit indicates SNOW (not "light" snow, as before) for the last two hourly observations (10 am & 11 am).

Just got off the phone with Scott at IME in North Conway - he said it's "snowing like a sonofabatch" there in the Valley. Jesse at EMS confirmed this as well.

Though still a few days away, so not conclusive, Henry Margusity on accuweather.com thinks someone (exactly who depends on the storm's track) will likely get 2 FEET from Sunday's predicted nor'easter . . . <gulp>

Mount Washington has been coding sn for the past five hours. Its rare for them to record just plain snow. They typically only code -sn or light snow. So, significant, I guess.

Also, 2.7" of new as of 2pm. Another good sign because the summit doesn't accumulate snow that well.

Just in from the NH WMUR Channel 9 TV news.... so far...

Looks like Cardigan is the winner so far with 8.5" in Alexandria.
We've got 5-6" here in Sunapee
N. Conway was around 5"

All pretty dense damp snow.... make a great base with this stuff!

Wildcat just declared they'll stay open another week!
Mt. Sunapee is deciding on extending their season tomorrow. I hope they do! :D

Just got back to Jackson from an afternoon double whammy GOS and Sherbie. Currently there's 7" of new snow, not terribly dense but certainly not champagne powder either. It has kind of lightened up a bit fo rthe time being.

GOS was good...our tracks at the bottom were almost covered by the time we got down again. About 4" had fallen on the trail at that point. Then skinning the sherbie the snow seemed to pick up in intensity. I'd say about 8" was on the porch, maybe a little less at the bottom. Very few people were up there this afternoon. There's some sweet powder covered bumps along the trail to launch yourself off of:D

Sorry no photos... I left the camera in the car.

Killington is reporting they got 18" from this storm! The backcountry trail conditions page on the MWO site lists 14" at Highland Center Lodge, 8.5" at Cardigan. No total for Tuck's yet, and the Rangers hadn't posted today's report when last I looked. Anybody hearing other totals from other areas?

edited to add: the avy report is up, and it's High/Considerable, as expected. 9" on the summit (!) and 11.5" at Hermit Lake. WOW. I'll be trudging up there this evening -- glad I got some powder tails for my slowshoes!

Morning update from Johnson - about 4" and light snow continues:

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/sailrig/friday930am.jpg

Saturday would be an awesome day to sit with a video camera at the base of the bowl to catch footage of the snow that will be moving. Alas, not to be my fate.... :)

Can't wait to see what Sun/Mon brings.

Good luck, enjoy and be safe to all who go this weekend

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread
