Hi Everyone,
This is a gear question. I do not post a whole lot but I typically read the posts on a daily basis and since everyone seems to be ski fanatics I figured this is where I would get the best advise.
I need new bindings and I was looking at a pair of Salomon 914 PE2 and also the Look Max 14. Does anyone have any advise i.e pros/cons of these two.
Thanks

Wow. A skiiing related question - we haven't too many of those lately.
Sure wish I could help but I am have AT bindings. Don't know if you considered those but they will work will alpine boots and you could use them to skin up, saving a bit of extra weight. Fritschi Diamirs, FreeRides or the Naxo bindings are real good.

I have Rossignol Bindings. They were called Axial's but I see this years model are called power. They are kind of like the old Look Turntable bindings. I love them. Hold me in well, almost never eject prematurely. My only thing is they are b!tch to put on, on a powder day. Can be really annoying. Seeing that Rossingol owns Look they are probably the same binding or very similar.
I've got Markers too. They work - so I'm not changing.

On my alpine set up, i use the marker titanium 1200 piston. I don't see much difference in what the industry calls "good" vs. "great" bindings.
As long as they hold you in, they are good to me.

The only difference I focus on with bindings are the different ranges of DIN settings on different models. Lots of ski shop employess are binding technicians, & they can determine the best DIN range for you to help you choose the right model. It's all based on height, weight, ability, boot sole length, terrain, etc, etc. Then you can decide what brand to pick after you know what range you fit in.

OK what markers are the best/recommended I use Marker Comp 1400 bindings with the hydraulic piston plate. Total bliss. The system is totally responsive and devoid of unwanted vibs.
Gotta love those Marker bindings. :lips:
