I was planning on going around april 23rd i was wondering how snow conditions usually are around that time. Also Ive heard theres different spots to ski from, how long would it take to get to the very top of the bowl on the hardest spot? Thanks,
Rich
Snow conditions are based on the season. April will have TONS of snow this year, but also the potential for avalanche danger.

BEFORE GOING
It takes about 2 hours to HoJo's
Then another 30min to get to the BOTTOM of the bowl.
Then probably another 30min to get up over the headwall. AKA The TOP of the bowl.
It's 30min to get a ways into the hourglass, AKA left gulley, I think too. But I'm of the impression that the headwall is the hardest decent, the hourglass gets some points for most dangerous becuase the rock walls on either side.
Then about 2min to ski down.
Oh man is that an investment! But the payoff is great.

m is totally on the money with the hiking times. we went last year 5/20. its tough, but the reward is amazing. bragging rights are the best. start early so you can make it back before dark. we hiked back down; would like to ski back this year.
enjoy.
