Mine's the Never Summer Premier..
Sweet steady board.. Sucks up any nasty crud I throw at it... Handmade in Colorado..

DMC,

My favorite is a Burton "Floater". I've been riding on it for 3 years and it's still going strong, even got me through NSP Tobaggan training and test. Here's one for you: What is your preference for bindings, strap or step-in?

I like straps..(Burton Missions). I havent use a stepin I'm comfortable with yet. I mainly don't like the feel of the boots - I guess I'm just a purist when it comes to riding. :)

I'd like to try the Flow bindings out someday.
I think thats a great technology - unsnap the back piece and slide right in.. It could be good for strapping in on those steep Tuckerman angles...

For years I rode Burton, but the season before last I went with a Nitro Supernatural 166. Big board, super stiff and great in powder and groomed runs and not much else. It was too stiff for Tuck's chop. Wherever I go I always bring my Burton Custom from 4 seasons ago, jsut in case. For bindings.....strap-ins all the way. I too have rode step-ins and found the boots a bit cumbersome and after a few season the boots, I foresee, will become soft. I use a pair of Burton X-bases from like 1996. They are the best binding I have ever seen and used to this day. So lite they are sickening and just what you need without all the worthless adjustability of present bindings. People still drool over these things when they see them. I am definately intrigued by the flow design and have friends who love them. Just my 2 bits.

Be well, PontiMax

For the last 3 years i've been riding a Burton Canyon.I wear a size 13 boot so I needed a wide board.I've taken my board to Tuck's several times as well as all over New england,Wyoming and Colorado and It's treated me great.

My best experience was my 98' Gnu Haulin Oates 160 wide, which finally blew out an edge in Feb...150+ days on the old girl....great all around deck...great float, but still forgiving enuff for east coast groomers/hardpack/crud etc...

Now sporting a GNU 164 Carbon Hi beam - wide....not as pleased, but still decent board for the loot...

Had an Option something or another a while back which was a good ride too....

DMC - The NS premier - sounds like you are pleased with - I fondled one 2-3 years back, and remember it being pretty tight (limited flex) - still that way on newer models???....great company though....

The Premier is suprisingly flexable... I prefer it in the Back Country or on POW days. It has a rubber dampener in it that sucks up all that you can throw at it... I love it! I'm hoping to pick one up on ProForm this summer...

I ride an old Super Model 68 on icey days...
Most of my Burtons came from demo stock so i have no idea how many days are on them..

Burton Custom...first year snowboarding after a 20 year haitus from skiing. It's a great fast board. Worked well in the Poconos all season and worked well in Beaver Creek, CO. Hoping it will see Tucks next April...

My split board is a Custom...
It's pretty sweet... Although all the hardware stiffens the ride...

Hmmmmmmmmm, my favorite would still have to be my 198 Fischers. If I epoxy them together would that count as a board? Might actually get around to trying this new-fangled snowboard sport. lol :jumpturn: Have fun, be safe. :skistooge:

Hey PontiMax!

I had to write. I too ride Burton almost always. And I have spuernatural. For the past two years my fav. has been a 166 frontier. The side cuts really allow for great edge transitions on steep stuff. But last season I won a Nitro Supernatural. I think it’s a 163. Really, really fast with the graphite base. And, really expensive to buy. But I only rode in 3 times. It carves really poorly and would be a nightmare on steeps. Right now it’s leaning again the wall in my bedroom. It’s been there for some time now. I should sell it.

My other fav is my cascade. 168. Floats really well, carves pretty well and is very fast.

As for boots, I wear Burton step-ins. The ride may be a “little” bit better with straps, but is a really bonus to able to get in and out while on steeps and while traveling with skiers. MY first pair were Drivers. I now have rulers. The problem is that Burton sizes really narrow and small. So, you have to be careful in what you buy. They’re not cheap.

Everybody I know that rides a Cascade loves it... Cool..

I know what you mean about strapping in vs. stepping in when it comes to riding with skiers.. I ride with a lot of telemarkers and those guys just want to go - go - go.... that's why I got the split board... At least they don't have to wait for me on hikes anymore... :)

I want to get on an Omen this year... I wanted the Omen Split but I had to settle for demo stock... Stuff's expensive...

Although I've been told Burton is going to lower it's prices this year to try and reach into more markets.

Got a Option Supercap this past season..... was looking at the K2 zeppelin or the ride timeless but was a little pressed for cash, anyway the board is great! Got Burton missions to strap my northwave boots into.

Right before I went to Tucks this year my Northwave shells started to give out.. I couldn't find anything in my size from my usual sources...
So I combined parts from my old Solomon and Burton boots that were getting ready for the trash bin and now I got a great pair of boots!!

Solomon shells
Northwave liners
Burton footbed and laces

They worked great!!!

DMC,

Look for me next year, early, if your interested. I was trying to hook up with board25 this season but it did not work out. The only thing is I'm only interested in going dec-feb, early March. Its a whole different experience at that time.

I'd love to head up with another boarder on a split. I've got a Voile 166.

February/March is doable for me...
Could even do an overnight.. But I think that time of year I'd probably just day hike..

Stayed slopside at Joe Dodge Lodge a couple of March's ago...

I'll keep in touch..
