Started snowing here at 5:30 pm, right on schedule. Forecast is 18" to 28", hope they got this one right for a change. I'm at work now, not sure if I'll be able to make it home at 1:00 am.

Talked to some of the patrollers at my home hill this morning. They have one trail with no snowmaking that is my absolute favorite but it hasn't been opened in a couple years since it takes a lot of snow to get it open. They're saying that it'll open Thursday morning.

I'll be on Quantum Leap Thusday morning:

Argh, I hate when links fubar in the translation. Go to the bottom of the crappy trail map and click on "View Virtual Trail Map".

about 4 - 6 inches here in Toronto....nice and light and TOTALLY useless in the city. Though at least it has covered up all the dirty icy stuff that was on the ground as of late.

It got windy and colder too....You new englanders are gonna have a blast...I expect full reports and photos....none of those "it was too cold it was too epic I was getting face shots" no photos excuses.....;)

killington reporting 6", waterville 4", ragged 5", cannon 5"...i love this. i'm heading up to my last weekend at ragged ever :( and they're getting 25-30" right before I go. It'll be a good sendoff for my last weekend at this wonderful mountain. rope-ducking galore, b/c their patrol is slow to open natural snow trails.

just walked in from riding at my home hill(Hunter)
It was stellar... Untracked on newly opened stuff and the natural snow trails.. 8" -12" on the ground and still puking...

The snow is compact and granular - laying in the woods so nicely.. This weekend i intend on skinning my ass off...

NH Seacoast we have maybe 4" moist powder. I went into the woods on my Outtabounds with the dog, got a couple of turns but it's still pretty scratchy. Supposed to turn to crap, maybe we'll at least get a base out of it...

Just some sleet and freezing rain last night, changed to plain ol' rain this a.m. down here. Heavy rain and coastal flooding this a.m. let up, now just windy and raw. No ice to ski here, but wind's offshore and surf's FIRING. It's gonna be b!tch cold in the water. Still wish we got a mess o snow.

surfy and DMC's each gonna get like 3 feet. Dang, Anapurna's gotta be schaweet. Enjoy it for us frozen precip challenged down souf.

Good morning Sugarbushers! It’s Valentine’s Day and this is a snow reporter’s dream. IT'S DUMPING - there are 10” on the ground at the summit so far and no end is in sight. Forecasts are calling for HEAVY SNOW today and tonight. We’re expecting at least another 10 to 15” today, then overnight another 10 inches. In the end we’re looking at 2-3 feet of fresh powder. Today’s highs should be around 17º at the base and 15º in the summits.

but stay away, it'll probably suck....especially slidebrook;)

holy shnickes. Ragged went from 9 trails this morning to 35 this afternoon. everything off the six-pack is open!! this storm is like the storm from heaven!! and the mountain has been empty all year, and i'm heading up this weekend. acres and acres of knee-deep all for me...I mean, all the snow melted.

EDIT: is k-mart 100% open? none of their trails show as closed on the snow report and they have 186 open. doesn't their 200 total include pico?

I'd say if it isn't open at K-Mart, it's probably safe to poach nonetheless ;)

Cannon has added 5 more trails after today. There was about 10-12 fresh inches when I got their this morning. Skied around off the tram in the morning, and was great all around. Headed over to Mittersill around 11 and was one of the first ones there. Hands down the most fun I have had in the snow in a while.

Been dumping in Lake Placid all day. Had to have an early Valentines dinner due to heavy snow.... could barely get back to our place. Snow is a foot up the window! Could suffocate tonight in all the white stuff... hopefully be basking in the powder tommorrow.

Snow is good! Happy Valentines!

nah-kmart. ragged sucks at getting pics up. i'll bring some back. I talked to a dude who works there and he said there has been almost no one on the mountain. their supposed to get snow showers for the rest of the week and he said it was knee-deep everywhere, so I'm sure i can find some stashes and bring back pics like that one.

i imagine we'll see some large totals when the resorts wake up tomorrow morning and post the results from the night. in the middle of a big block now, and some more bands coming through.

Hey guys! Are you getting any snow yet? :D

@ PWDR8S - we've had only rain here. torrential rain all day long. and then the temperature dropped from 40 to 25 in 2 hours. my entire yard is gonna be a skating rink tomorrow. (forecasted high of 28)

We ended up with about 7 inches of snow/sleet here in CT. I have been plowing it all day and it’s like sugar. There is a hill in my woods that I have been wanting to hit since we got our few inches like a week ago. It looks like tomorrow morning I am finally going to be able to hit it. I think I will head up to Mad River this weekend since there supposed to get like 3 ft total which will be awesome. I wish I could make it there sooner, but good old work won’t let me. I am just happy we FINALLY got some real snow! :D BTW thats and awesome pic davidhowland14!!!!!!

I am def not buying the 60 inches from Jay.

But me, M@ and Django hit up Cannon and were one of the 1st on the lift at 8:50am and last off the hill at 4:05pm, the Cannonball actually shut down as I was halfway down my last run, thats when you know you are all alone.
They had about 6 inches to start with and got another6-8 during the day I would imagine, refills and wind buff were great especially in the Shrubs!

The morning runs down the front 4 were sweet and untracked. The we skied mostly laps off the cannonball all late morning. One run down Mitzo after lunch and followed by a few more laps off the cannonball. We rode the tram a couple times but were avoiding b/c of goggle freeze on the way up.

All in all a very fine day with 2 guys who nearly skied me off the mtn.
Damn I'm friggin sore today. Thanks for taking it easy on someone on their 2nd day out this season.....NOT. There is no pity on a powder day I guess.

there's alot of snow up there.
it was chest deep in north glades on Wednesday afternoon and it didn't stop snowing until Thursday morning.

60"? the winds have been howling and the upper lifts were almost completely shut on Thursday so i bet anyone up there tomorrow (Friday) will easily find lots of places where the fresh snow is that deep.

unfortunately, i'll be working there tomorrow in my ultra-lowly peon position and will only be able to take 3 or 4 runs.

this weekend's caviat: no rooms to be had near jay for a 45mile radius around the mountain so don't come unless you don't mind waiting on lines.

A reliable report has Burke being an awesome place to go right now....but read further for a very great secret to be revealed:

For those of you wanting lots of powder and no lines to speak of there is only one big mountain to go to...

Lots of Vertical...

Very high proportion of Expert and Extreme terrain...
Probably has room in the On slope Hotel.....

...ready?

Aww, come on, you know where this is going...
