okay then, I guess the question is, what's the prime time to be there? I'm thinkin' I may go up tomorrow night and sleep in the car for an early Wed. morning start.
President's day, yours truly will take a look at a work in progress. In that part of the world the midweek nothing looks to be followed by substantial, daily mini-nothings until late on Saturday....

Wouldn't that be: "Silence walks into a bar - bar breaks the Silence."

Err yes, but then it wouldnt be a M@ Chuck Norris joke about silence in particular..
But it would be a silent joke about silence.
All this talk about nothin, what about Chuck Norris?

Chuck, aka Charlie, don't surf. :snowboarding:
The decision is made. Driving to VT this evening, plundering the goods on St. Valentine's Day. The trick is going to be to make it home to celebrate with the missus, 'cause if I don't, I'm toast . . .

Board the wiser decision may be to treat the missus on VDay, and drive up late Wednesday. Snows sposed to start around 6AM on Wed up here and such. Although, the problem with all of this is that Wed Night is Blizzard Warning in NVT.

yeah, only problem is Thursday won't work for me work-wise. And I guess it depends on which weather report you read, as I've seen some that say the snow starts to fly around 1 am tonight, with the blizzard conditions setting in later tomorrow. I'll be happy enough sliding 1 foot of new as I would 2, especially in this snow-starved season! But the ride home should be interesting . . .
The last part of this is my main concern with driving up Wed night/Thurs morn:
Snow will spread across Vermont and the Champlain Valley of New
York by early Wednesday morning. Snow will be heavy at times
during the day Wednesday. Blowing and drifting snow will develop
Wednesday night into early Thursday morning as wind gusts increase
to near 35 mph. Snow will gradually taper off to snow showers by
early Thursday morning. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 20
inches are expected across the Champlain Valley... and 1 to 2 feet
across central and northern Vermont. Isolated higher amounts are
possible... especially along The Spine of the Green Mountains.
With near blizzard conditions expected at times... travel will be
extremely difficult through much of Wednesday into Thursday
morning. If possible... travel should be avoided during this time.

so what you are saying is that there is no way you are making it back in time for Valentine's Dinner...;)
and choose the lift wisely...

I am hoping to go up to Wildcat on Wednesday. I am a bit concerned about lift closures, but the weather report makes Thursday sound like the windier day. Hopefully the drive home is not too bad.:skiplow:

Wow.... I can hear all the coughing and sniffling from here! My gut EMT awareness is telling me there will be many calling in sick over the next few days. :p Take my advice... Don't make your fellow coworkers ill... do yourself and your boss a favor... call in sick. After all, you ARE looking out for your coworkers in preventing them from catching whatever ails you. ;)
Sorry to hurl this event atcha guys. :p

:D My finger is starting to hurt from clicking refresh on the school cancelation page. I plan on snowshoeing to the bar at 3:30 for $1 Guiness. Whenever it snows it flows for a buck! If I can't get to the slopes this is the next best thing!:D

Stuck at a trade show in Providence. Heading home today, but can't get up north tomorrow. Going to do some local touring in NH tomorrow and hopefully head up north to ride Sherbie sometime next week. It's supposed to stay pretty cold, so while I'm not getting a powder day, it's going to be snowy up there for some time...
