There's enough snow out there to slide at least! Although am left wondering what those folks were doing there in those conditions.

Glad everyone is OK.

The story did not make it clear if Brad White From the Climbing School actually witnessed, or was involved in the incident. Or was he just giving expert analysis on the events? He's got Himalayan experience.

He's got Himalayan experience.

Are you perhaps insinuating that Himalayan experience = White Mtn experience? Because different mountains, different weather patterns, and therefore, different conditions.

Note: While I do agree with you that generally speaking the Himalayas would be more challenging, and thus a Himalayan climber should damn well know what theyre doing in the Whites, I am just playing Devil's Advocate. And remember, it's when you let your guard down, because you think you're safe, that accidents happen.

He is the co owner as well as a guide at IMCS and on the board of director of N.Conway MSR, prob was involved in the clean up. Buy him a beer if you see him out, he will be the one looking if anyone screws up!

That does change it up a bit...

And if it were my choice, I would buy him a beer, but with the laws in this country, I can't.

Just to echo, them IMCS cats are the shyte. I think almost all of em have Himalayan experience and most also have extensive AK, Rocky, Andean, Euro and even some Antarctic trips under their belts. I took an ice climbing class with Brad and Rick Wilcox many years ago and was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism, concern for safety and ability to teach novices without teaching down to them. I'd buy em a beer either way.
