Can anybody give me a current report on the snow conditions? I'm planning to ski this week but want to know if it's worth it.

They is a good shot of the ravine taken May 6, 2000 on the Tuckerman Ravine Ski Patrol site on their photo gallery (http://www.tuckerman.org/photos/tucks/) page. The ravine is still looking good!

I was there on sunday the sixth. The snow was really nice spring corn and the weather was beautiful... but the headwall was baring its rocks and the icefall was scary. I left the ravine at about four and hiked in the rain most of the way down. I had thought of going back up today but bailed because of all the rain ... I had gotten a few spectacular runs in and had to drive back to boston so my decision wasn't based entirely on what I thought the conditions would be. It might be worth the hike though, there was still a fair bit of snow and many were still going to the top to ski down Right Gulley. Good luck!

Don't you mean 'left gully'? I was there Sunday as well and it looked like right gully was all bare on the top and everyoe was staying clear of the right side (including sluice / lip) in general because of the falling ice danger. I went up early and left early and only skied The Chute. It was foggy when I arrived and couldn't see up left gully to notice how it was in better shape than The Chute. It wasn't until I left when I noticed. Did anyone witness more ice chunks falling? Any displays of public craziness?
