Hermit Lake Shelters...

Question: How fast do the hermit lake shelters fill up. Obviously it depends on conditions, cover, weather, etc. But do they normally fill up friday p.m.?? My first time was last may, and cover was sparse. The shelters were not filled by 8 pm friday. Do most people do saturday-sunday overnights??

Thats a good question...any thoughts from those who frequent the shelters?? Is it good camping? Going up May 11.

Camping is terrible. No one ever has any fun. I use to do it often in the 70's and 80's and started again last year. Still having terrible times. Oh yeah, the people aren't friendly either.

Shelters are usually gone by 7:30 AM Saturday in late April/May. I'll be there next weekend for 3 days and hopefully every year until I can't drag my sorry butt up there. Oh yeah, I'm the old out of shape guy in the blue Goretex shell and the mile wide smile.
