Well, that was a hard choice... 3003 or the last choice. As I hope that the 5th choice become true before 3003, I took the 5th one :D

The potman, a.k.a. "the smelter king" died an awful sinner. A demon checked him into hell and went to see how his suffering was going a week later.

The potman was lounging on a bed of hot coals happy as could be. Flustered, the demon went to get his boss. The devil elected to turn up the heat to see how that would do. The potman sighed in pleasure and snuggled deeper into the coals.

Outraged the devil flipped the thermostat the opposite way all together. The potman woke from his nap, noticed all the ice and exclaimed, "The Red Sox won The World Series!"

(He promptly went back to sleep)

I'm also a Red Sox fan from way back -> my grandmother never missed a chance to cheer for Carl Yastrzemski and Tony Conigliaro. Her blood pressure went up whenever the Yankees won.
I HOPE the Red Sox win a world series soon for her sake...she's been watching over them (from heaven) waiting for it to happen for a long time...

Speaking of the WayBack* machine:
as a fourth grader I got to watch Mickey and Roger and the rest of the Yanks win one against the Phillies in a preseason game in Witchita, Kansas.

Most of the players on both teams stayed on the field to sign autographs. No one I knew went away with less than 15 autographs...sure wish my mom hadn't chucked all my signed baseball cards...they'd be worth a fortune today!

*that's "waaayy, way back", I think Curt Gowdy called that game along with the local announcer

Mumster - I bet you'd like to see a Phillys/Sox World Series... Hmmm...it would be really embarrassing for Boston if the Phillys beat the Red Sox.
It would be terrific to see the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the World Series.

I'd be happy with that. Then the Sox move on to win the World Series ...against anyone.

AL v NL seems so arbitrary...what decides who is which anyway?
