Saw a bunch of these older bindings on eBay, has anyone used these? A friend of mine wants a basic Guido's setup and they look like they may fit the bill...

Yikes, those are prehistoric. For a guidos set up, I'd be more inclided just to pick up a piar of used trekkers

If you are looking for something really basic, say to drive a ice climbing boot or something of similar stiffness, get some Silveretta 400 series.

Those are ancient. I wouldnt trust plastic that old in a binding--probably getting brittle by now.

Does anyone recognize the Besser Bindings parts in those pictures?

For a Guidos setup, I'd just march on up in your alpine boots. That's all we ever did. It can't be more than a mile... All the times I went up there, I don't think I saw any skin tracks- rather, snowshoe tracks at most. Don't forget snowmobilers go up there all the time, so you're basically hiking along packed down snowmobile tracks too... of course there is a slightly shorter route up that will take you off the snowmobile track... but then again, enough gets packed down you can just walk up in your ski boots.

YES! I had a pair...er...actually a few pairs  ! Namely due to prodeals and lost parts. They were fun to use as ski/skates! Darn near killed myself a couple dozen times trying to walk around.

mmm, good point. Though wasn't Skilas offering a pari of trekkers up for like 50 bucks... That would be perfect.

Ah, for me "Guidos" is probably less specific. I tend to ski the opposite side, as well as S.Mtn; lines that involve a much longer skin out. My friend tried to do this with me a couple years ago on his alpine rig (I'm on tele) and cursed me for a week afterwards! Thanks for all the input guys!
