Affix Snow
10-12-2006, 10:16 AM
Overnight into this morning, a coastal low pressure system is quickly trekking to the north bringing a pretty good sloth of rain with it. A warm front associated with this low is allowing temperatures to warm this morning. Once this passes, a weak cold front associated with this low will be followed by another stronger cold front associated with a strong low pressure system currently over the Great Lakes. As this front passes, rain showers will once again return and will turn to freezing precipitation types later. The current weaker low as well as the strong cold front will lift to the north overnight a dry slot of air will move in from a weak ridge of high pressure to the south. The low over the lakes will slowly move north and will allow colder air to spin in despite the drier conditions. The summit will then be sandwiched between the strong low to the northwest and weak high pressure to our south. An upper level trough will be moving over the state and will bring a slight chance of snow showers for tomorrow as well.
