Ispoiler reminded me I need to Offically get this done.

I spoke with the EMS Climbing school and they are running Avi 1 classes. They are are certified through AIARE (American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education). They are offering dates on.....

December 28-29, 2006- Thursday-Friday.
January 13-14, 2007-Saturday-Sunday
January 27-28, 2007-Saturday-Sunday
February 24-25, 2007-Saturday-Sunday
March 10-11, 2007- Saturday-Sunday

HOWEVER, I asked if we had to do those dates. The guy said if we can put together a large enough group, we could prolly get another date. PLUS the larger the group, the less the cost. As of now, a 2-day Avi one is $175 per person, so its the same as Chauvin. BUT if we went through EMS, we could get a T4T only class.

SO id like to pic a date earlier than Dec 28-29 to get it out of the way.

Oh and yes, it is on Mt. Washington.....

Who wants in?

(Yes i work for EMS. Yes i get a discount. Yes I will buy beer.)

Would Steve be willing to do an early season Avi II if there were enough people? I want to do my Avi II this season and Dec would be better than waiting till March.

I'd actually e-mailed Chauvin about their schedule, because their website is showing dates from last year, because I wanted to get this course earlier in December. So yes, I'd be very interested, assuming that it'll be on a weekend, like maybe Dec. 16-17?

NtrentT

If I could free up the schedule I would be interested, Ill have to check and get back to you, but I seriously am interested, I wanted to last Feb, but things didnt work out.

Count me in for AVI 1, earlier the better. I'd like to follow that up quickly with AVI 2 as well, so if the 2 group can schedule after the 1 group, that would be great!

Affix: How many do we need to get our own group? There may be a bunch of people at my club that might be interested too.

We will probably having our Ullr fest Dec 2nd. So that date would not work well for me. Or we will stick to tradition and have it Thanksgiving wkend...

Dont worry just yet Seeker.....

Just got off the phone w/ EMS. They are willing to do other dates. Only concern would be snowpack, BUT i think the consensus is Mid December, and with any luck we should be fine.

Max group is 8, BUT we might be able to tack on 1 or 2 more.

Payment would be handled by calling in your tuition. Meaning, once everything is set in stone, it is up to YOU to call the Climbing School and give them the Cash. This also means that if you cant make it alll of a sudden, you are accountable for finding a replacement.

Im waiting to hear back from Steve, the head Avi dood, to confirm eveything.

It seems like the best weekend would be Dec. 16-17

Then maybe Dec 8-9 if that doesnt work.....MAYBE Dec 22-23 if people wanna do it right before X-mas........

I am on hold. Mrs RobRox may want to go North during interweek and has promised to give me an answer this week. If she decides against it I could make the 16th/17th, but it looks like there are a lot of folks stacked up on the waiting list.

Either way I can still go for the 28th/29th so you can have the 16th/17th spot for other Tuckermaniacs.

We, The Bretts, run our own volleyball league in the summer, not affiliated with the BSSC.

You must be 21 to be a guest at our club. I will bring up the 2 nights for one deal at the next board meeting. I'm sure the board will approve the special rate, that was how I first visited the Bretts, a T4T Tucks trip that Rainman put together. I've been a member ever since.
