Came across this on neclimbs... I know there are dozens here that would love to do it. Who's going to be the inside man (or woman)?

The AMC is looking to hire a Head Caretaker for the Hermit Lake Shelters below Tuckerman Ravine. Applicants should have good technical skills on rock, ice, skis or snowboard, a current WFR or WEMT, ability to use avalanche safety equip., and the good humor to deal with thousands of backcountry skiers, climbers and inner-tubers during the winter season.

The job requires living in the backcountry for 10 days at a time, in harsh weather. However, the cabin is equipped with a phone, a two-way radio, and a slow modem connection. It also comes with all the food you can eat. The head caretaker works closely with the USFS Snowrangers (several who were once caretakers) to educate Ravine users on safe travel in avalanche terrain and current conditions.

Hmmm... interesting... I wonder if my OEC qualifies...

I'm not sure that Seth was the "Head" caretaker, though if not, I would think he would be a shoe-in for the promotion, a sad loss if Seth is moving on.

See my post today regarding the FOTR trail work weekend and my discussion with him on saturday. Seth is in fact moving on and AMC is looking to fill his position.
