Im heading up to pinkham this weekend with the lady to do some hiking. Was wondering if anyone of you could recommend a nice place to stay in Jackson or the surrounding area. I usually stay at the Dodge, or a roach motel in Gorham - whatever's cheap, so I have no understanding of class when it comes to accomodations up at pinkham.

I stayed at The Village Inn once in Jackson. I liked it alot for $80/night for two of us. They are self check in so you show up and there is a clipboard for each room, each being a little different, some have Jacuzzi tubs, kithenettes of varying sophistication, some Kings some Queens... you go up and check out the available rooms and pick the one you want, go back down and fill out the form. They have a hot-tub at the main house available to all untill midnight (I think, maybe only til 11:00...)

They are also a service-dog training center. When we were there they wer having a "social weekend" wherein other service dog trainers came over with their trainees for the weekend to train the dogs in social interaction, mostly to learn when they can go and play and when they need to attend to their duties. It was way cool.

JBHB hit it right on the head! Dana Place is primo. 4 Star food and a wine list that will have you in shock as drool commences. We were there for our 5th Anniversary. After the first dinner we settled for a 10 year old La Tour Blanche but lusted after a 16 year old Château d'Yquem which we could not afford. They kept it en'vacu and we finished it the second evening.

Save up, go, enjoy!
