I am looking to come up May 5th - Is that too late? I want to bring my Dog. Are Dogs Allowed?

Hey Dood:
May 5th will be a SPECTACULAR day to be there. I will be there. Our dog (Lego) will be there as well!

The basic summary of dog advice is, BE RESPONSIBLE. Not all dogs can handle steep slopes. If you're just hiking up to watch, dogs are awsome to hike with.

Dogs are NOT allowed to camp overnight in the ravine though.

Firstly I'm not against dogs in the ravine (except if I slip and fall on some poop on the side of the trail). As long as they are handled by the owner, fine by me.

I've seen many skiers/riders headed down the steps slopes of Tucks with dogs on their heels. On many occasions that I can recall the skier/rider had to deal with the dog crashing into them due to the steep pitch. It becomes more of a 'manage you dog' task, than paying attention/enjoying your run.

On the Easter weekend this year my wife came up and hung out by a big rock over by left gulley. An owner had 2 dogs with her. One of the dogs was VERY interested in some food in my wifes backpack. She had to fend it off all day. The owner was less than 10ft away but ignored the fact that her dog was becoming a nuisance.

If you bring your dog please make sure its not bothering other people.

Dave
