Does coke freeze at a warmer temp than water? Might this be the future for snow making? :chicken:

Cool! That is funny.... They're almost as good as the famed Bellegio Watershow!

Now as for snow making, personally I like phat snow. ;) No diet junk for this ol boy! :D Also... wouldn't that make the snow really brown? It's bad enough in late spring but come on..... brown skid marks everywhere!?!

:justdoit:

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to skicdave again for creative snowmaking thinking! :D

Actually, there is physics involved here, which is why it is always a bad idea to try to chill your carbonated beverages quickly in the freezer (particularly the alcoholic kind). We all know alcohol freezes at a colder temperature than water, hence the vodka in the freezer trick. But, with carbonation another factor is added. The release of the CO2 upon opening chills further the substance becasue as gas expands, it cools, so this may well help in the snow making process at warmer temperatures. Eventually the snow would melt just as fast, but you might have more of it.

Ah yes.. this explains why when I hope a beer I forgot in the fridge.. I can take a swig or two, then it freezes up on me.
