Another Friday, another round of pre-ski reports!
In wx news, flooding due to the rain/snowmelt event of 2 days ago closed Sunday River yesterday (http://www.bangornews.com/editorialnews/articles/413597_121903snowwindandrain_.cfm). They're open again today and for the weekend; low temps this weekend should allow for decent coverage with the manmade, but no natch until at least early next week.
Up at Sugarloaf, they're gearing up for the weekend. They describe surface snow conditions as "frozen granular". We all know what that means. Tomorrow is their last college sale day -- bring a college ID (are any of us still that young?) They also have a promo going on where you get a lift ticket in December and receive a voucher to come back in January for $39.
Shawnee Peak opens again for night skiing tonight. (I'd be there if I wasn't going to watch the Celtics beat up on the Jazz.) They got hammered by the rain and had to close for a few days, but they're reporting 24-72" base.
Mt Abram opens tomorrow. Big Squaw is open: "Like to telemark ski, or snowshoe, check out our back country. It is suggested to venture our back country in pairs or groups for this is the deep woods you know."
