Ok so this is a misleading post.. but hey.. I NEED SOME FEEDBACK people!!!
I am evaluating the new server from a performance view point. Yes I know the galley and a few other features still aren't working, but its a coming.
I need those members who use the site a lot to give me some comments on how accessible T4T has been in the last few weeks since I moved the site to the new server. Has it been quicker or slower to view topics, search or post.
Is it better or worse? Slow or faster? No difference?
Your feedback is mucho appreciated!!!
Thanks
I can't really comment with anything useful - as I'm behind a new service provide at about the same time you got the new servers and upgraded.
It feels about the same at home, that is no "noticeable" difference.
It does appear to be down more - that is it was down maybe 3 times in the past few weeks compared to almost never before then.

I've noticed more down time and slower performance, definitely. Not consistently slow, but there have been slow times (yesterday all day)

Yesterday was slow...for some odd reason at one point I couldn't connect to the site, I thought it was just an issue with me and my LAN. Overall though, I haven't noticed a major difference, and when its working it almost seems a wee bit faster than before.

Great. I been just be assured that the connectivity issues will not be a problem. There were some routing issues yesterday however. We are also going to get another pair of CPU's installed in the server which should give us the boost in performance we had anticipated.
Any other comments appreciated.

I haven't had any serious lags now but last week towards the end was spotty and this week I haven't made the time to be here.
I want the gallery!

I have not yet noticed a difference. If anything, maybe it appears to have been faster for me, but that may just be because I've been connecting at off-hours.

I have not noticed a real difference yet either. I was also unable to connect for most of the day yesterday. I wasn't sure if it was on my end or the site. I DO however appreciate all the work that you are putting into this Dave! Keep up the effort!:D

No, we ALL want the gallery! You NEED the gallery, so that everyone can see the lunacy that we engaged in two days ago. You also need to get those vids up on the vid page, which is in SORE need of refreshing. Is there any clip there less than five years old? I'll have to send you a Tux videotape that I made a couple of seasons ago, all 43 minutes of it, Dave. It's on digital tape, so I would hope the conversion would be easier. A guy coming down the center rocks as well as a guy going off the Sluice icefall. Really needs to be on the vid page!

I haven't noticed a really big difference- except some of the formatting/graphics etc. which all look great! :)

Thanks SkiDog.
I'm juggling the server transition with a bunch of vacation time. Was hoping all this would have been done before summer hit us... but no such luck. Its taken a LOT longer than anticipated.
Harkin I'll be getting back to the gallery shortly. Is probably a minor thing.. that could take 5 minutes to find or a few days of head scratching

Thanks Dave, we all appreciate your hard work and efforts in this nefarious web forum business. I don't think I could do as much as you do to keep this playground open.
You are definately top :cooldog: in my cool book.

Dave,
I've been running occasional pings the last couple days and they are coming in pretty consistent at 20 ms to 30 ms. Looks pretty good from here. I love the new look and sure do appreciate all the time you've spent on it.

I noticed that there was recent down time but assumed it was just server upgrade glitches and what not... There has been some recent stints of slugish loading but today is like any other day. In the grand scheme of things, all is well!!

It was very sluggish around 5-6PM today loading and editing. Then I cancelled the request and opened T4T again and it sped up to 'normal' or reasonable loading speed. Curious indeed.... I'm on broadband at the office where I experienced the slow down. It seems random or sporadic.

I get that too (sporadic REALLY slow loading of pages and then back to normal speed after hitting refresh or opening a new window) It happens to me with a few other websites- most notably Craig's list. I just thought it was a problem with my computer....

Thanks. Keep the reports coming in... going to give this a week and see how it goes. If there are time periods it gets slow, let me know. The server is certainly under no strain, its a connectivity issue thats for sure.
Header was messed up a couple of times this morning.

PostBack() seems to have an issue. The code that un-highlights the topic header after it has been read seems different. It is staying highlighted if a user replies to the topic and then clicks back to the particular forum.
The old way had it un-highlighted using the same steps.

Not sure what you mean RR.. but anyways that sounds more like difference in the behavior with the upgrade vBulletin software. Not related to the speed/performance issue.
Seems to be running smoother today. I haven't noticed any periods of above normal lag.

On the T4T home/start page the section that shows who is on line nevre shows anyone untill I get onto the forum page. Then it shows who is on.
