Skilas and I did the first tracks at Kmart thing today. So much fun. Few rain drops here and there, but it just adds to the fun! Skilas and I were saying that we claim first tracks with rain drops, or something like that hehehe. Sorry people, no pics taken today.

Skilas - you need to add on to this post!!

Skilas - you need to add on to this post!! Indeed! It was a blast today! :D Km's friend from Burlington was great to ski with as well and lots of good conversation with all.

Somewhere around 17,000 vert in various conditions, mostly good and all fun... except for that one weird fall on the way to lunch. It was almost like a pre release but not really, almost like catching a bad edge but not really. Anyway, I clicked back in and went to lunch, somehow failing to notice why I had fallen. Come back out from lunch and grab my skis only to see that about 10 inches of the tip of one of my skis was snapped, hanging on by a thread of base material and the steel edges! My sob story hath ended, my beloved Rossis, my fist pair of brand new skis ever, died a glorious death on a glorious first tracks day. Finished the day on my Tucks/rock skis, not quite as good but I still had fun.

A lesson I gratefully learned well at the expense of someone else who broke a ski on the second run and had no backup: ALWAYS bring a backup!!! :D

Can't wait to hit the slopes again, but I'll have to see what I'll be sliding on. :(

At the top of our first run at Kmart this year a guy we were with realized he had grabbed a broken pair of skiis. He had backup though, only missed one run, and the gondola ride down is no biggie.

Pictures of Kmart Today? You know which one I'm gonna be looking for.

We were so focused on skiing that taking pictures never crossed our minds...

KM, Charlie, and I had a blast! Mostly we did laps on Rime, off the triple. we did a few top to bottom fly runs to hop back on the gondola. East Glades (not glades) was fun but slushly bumps so we only hit it twice. FIS and everything else was just fun... it was just fun... really fun... We found some great snow at the edges of the trails, particularly skiers left of upper rime, a blast!

I can't wait to go it again! but somewhere else! $45 was well worth the first traks, but come on... 5 top to bottom trails???... Cannon Tuesday,. Wildcat Wednesday,
