If you need a beacon I never see them on sale on the E-Coast and the Ortovox X1 Avalanche Beacon is 395 (normal price) with 40% off so it would be around 237 plus taxes! If anyone want me to pick one up let me know. I can mail it to them and they can send me the money Paypal.

Only day I'd be able to is tomorrow so PM me ASAP!

I'm using the X1 now. I find it to be the best beacon for the non-pro who doesn't practice regularly. (I practice a couple of times a year.)

It is generally available in the U.S. for around $280 and is available in some packages with pack, probe and shovel or such at what is probably a little less.

$237 is a nice price for a good, useable beacon.

Has anyone checked out the next generation of beacons that are due out this fall? Some of the models incorporate a heart rate monitor that gives the heart rate of the buried victim so in a multiple burial a rescuer can skip bodies and focus on those with the best chance of survival. The range is also supposed to be much greater and in multiple burials a single beacon will be easier to pin point. With my Tracker, I found it hard to isolate and pin point a single beacon when my transceiver was picking up more than 2 signals. If the new beacons live up to the hype I will be upgrading this fall. All the guides I have spoken with are quite excited and may be finally switching over to digital beacons.
