I'be been storing my skins on a cheat sheet this winter, but now that the season is about over, I went to strip them off and put them back on the original sheets of paper they came on. Unfortunately I seem to only half 1 1/2 sheets! UUUghhh.. :yardsale:
What to do? Is wax paper a good alternative? Ideas?
Thanks

I leave the cheat sheets on and put them in the freezer. If you leave them in a warm place, the glue softens up and the cheat sheets get embedded. Make sure to let them warm up before removing the cheat sheets so that the glue doesn't get pulled off.

I use sunscreen to protect my skin...oh wait...never mind.
My skins came with a flexible plastic mesh strip to stick them to when not in use but they peel right off the mesh as it is mostly air. Perhaps you can buy a similar mesh and cut it to fit? Both skins can go on a single mesh (facing each other) and they won't stick to each other.

I just stick them to themselves, store them in their bag, and toss them in the gear closet. As long as they're dry they'll be just fine. I've been doing this for 20+ years and the skins are no worse for wear.

I typically store mine in a locked sub-basement, about 200 feet below surface level in a hardened ferro-concrete structure capable of surviving a direct nuclear attack. The entrance to the storage room is guarded by an expert system with control over plasma energy beams, 5 armed pirate-ninjas, and a vampire.
When not in there I usually just put them in their bag on the shelf in the gear room.
Black Diamond recommends making sure glue is facing glue, and that they are stored in a place with temps under 90 degrees.

Yep me too. I'd loose the cheat sheets for storage B/C they WILL get imbedded -- i've had it happen before.

Since I have two pairs, does that mean I have Four Skins to protect?

To lazy to search the interweb, but last year or maybe the year before Coulior Magazine had a fantastic article all about skins and their care. See if you can find it.

As for skins, besides the other suggestions so far, I also clean & reglue any small areas (*not* the entire skin) that are especially dirty and/or glueless. I use the BD gold label bottle and follow the hot melt suggestions (much more effective than merely painting it on and allowing it to dry with nothing else). Use *lots* of ventilation - the fumes are very, very strong. REI has the sheet version on sale (both BD & G3) although I've never tried it.

I'm in the "stick them to each other and leave them" camp personally... I've never really used cheat sheets... it's extra weight in the BC (and more of a pain to deal with), and not really necessary IMHO for storing. Getting them dry is the important thing...
