M@ - Tuesday is looking good. My wife just called and said that another storm is headed our way Sunday into Monday. We may not get first tracks but what the hell I'll take anything I can get. 6:30 is it?

Kfar:

A big *ROGER* to that.

Shuttle wagon leaves the resevoir at 6:38am (begin civil twilight). Let's just meet there. If I go the north way I'll probably try to time it so I can get a coffee at that shell in time to be at the resevoir at 6:30am.

To all ye that plan to join (lukers et. al.): Let us know your coming, emails of cell phones and radio frequencies can be done. A shuttle buddy cuts 0.8 miles hiking and 250 ft of ascent.

SNOW SNOW SNOW.

Are we going to have tequilla this time? We should save the OJ an Champage for when KMRN can join us.

Some info on Guido. (Not directions of course)

Ski: 652 ft drop, 0.48 mile length
Hike: 429 fr ascent, 0.41 mile length
Drive from EndRun to HikeStart: 227ft ascent , 0.86 mile length
Hiking Trail from EndRun to HIkeStart: 227 ft ascent, 0.67 mi length

Got these from the topo software I haven't had a reason to use in 2 years. So happy to use it again!

I'd love to show you the pictures it generates... but that would be breaking the white rule.

Roger tequila. And we not talking quervo here - this stuff is from Mexico. A co-worker smuggles it for us. Graias Gabriella!

And we should expect Andy to come. He lives 5 miles away and is just burning that I found this trail before him. (He's a teledood)

If the conditions are favorable, I'll be up for a Tuesday run. I'll be working from home that day anyway.

I just might be able to make that...

Ah geez Tuesday is my daughter's Christmas thing at school, can't blow that off. I'll PM you with some ideas for tree shots off the backside, but I'd only advise it if we get another 10-12", as those woods are littered with big granite slabs. It looks like I have a clear calendar for Monday, if I can I'll get up there with some landscaping tape and mark out a surprise for ya...

Hey Luddite, I have Monday off. I was planning to use my free movie goer's pass at the Bush, but I'd rather see about some BC. What's your thought? I have some pack sized loppers and a nice little pruner...also some left over flagging tape.

You may want to reconsider and hit the bush, unless you have another day next week.

That's strange. The Sugarbush pass I got from Journey says valid on "Monday-Friday from the opening day of the 2003 season through 1.31.04" excluding a couple of blackout dates.

I have Monday and Friday next week...I really need to work on my arcs and meeting several folks is a pleasant thought. On the other hand (we need a handsaw icon so I can put it here) sculpture/gardening/birdwatching/topiary in the woods is a very serious addiction.... :happyhiker:

I'm so torn, :( decisions decisions...and it's gonna snow like mad on Saturday night!

KmRn: Monday is a Killingtime day - 1/2 price for NH residents (VT+Canada too) I've got the day listed as vacation. Keep in touch as it approaches.

Oh man, going to work Monday was hard enough! Well I hope to cut a new entrance into Undescended Testicle at lunch so if you find Guido's is tracked out Tuesday you'll have an alternative. With such a descriptive name I'll have to do better than just tape to mark the entrance. Hmmmmm :D

I hope nobodies still waiting for me there --- the snow conditions were pretty crappy in my front yard (good inch of crust). That and I skiied all day yesterday. Next tuesday for sure!

Or - next good powder morning when were going to have to work that day.

I certainly had the same thoughts. I'll be waiting for better surface conditons before I return to Guidos.

Django: you inspired me to steal some music, Mr. Reinhardt is quite the guitar player.

Especially for missing 2 fingers on his fret hand.

M@

Are they "Missing?" I thought they were bent such that they could only move a few frets at a time. Googletime.

Nope they're missing alright. Ya'll just inspired me to go upstairs to take a shot at Nuages on my acoustic. Django, damn that's good stuff. Guido's & associated trails took too big a hit in that last rain. I may hike up later in the week for some gardening, but I want to see another 10" before I ski it again. Hopefully that will come soon...

djangoski

Yes, he lost the fingers in a fire as a child.

Unfortunately Guido's is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. They're calling for well over an inch of rain Wednesday into Thursday.

:badwords: :raining:

Django isn't missing fingers - the tendons were burnt in a fire when he was 18.

Here's a pix:
http://www.allaboutjazz.com/gallery/reinhardt.jpg

Here's a quote from http://www.redhotjazz.com/django.html:

His fourth and fifth digits of the left hand were permanently curled towards the palm due to the tendons shrinking from the heat of the fire. He could use them on the first two strings of the guitar for chords and octaves but complete extension of these fingers was impossible.
