Tuckerman Ravine hasn’t been near as bad as the reports. Although a lot of runs are drying fast, there’s still time to head up to Mount Washington and get your spring-thing on. The snow Report as of Wednesday, May 3 lists 360” of annual snowfall and LOW avalanche danger. Natural avalanches are very unlikely and human triggered avalanches are unlikely EXCEPT in isolated pockets. Normal caution is advised.
Low visibility paired with the rain today will create difficult conditions for hazard assessment. Warm and rainy spring weather has been slowly melting the bonds that keep ice on the walls of the Ravine. ICEFALL is a major concern. Many people have been hurt or killed by the spring icefall - fomo info - AND YOU”LL WANT IT! - go to TUCK
(blah blah blah about a bunch of other places...)
