Am I slow in putting 1+1 together?
Are you the same skidude who is Skimum's son?
If so, you could call her work and claim a "family emergency", but then there is still the issue of there being nowhere to ski... :(

Interesting...
I just went to the Camelback site that you list as a homepage...

And it explains a lot about our past threads...

One question... Why the disslike towards snowboarders? Should I avoid you? Whats up with this?

OK - that was more than one question... sorry.. And please don't take this the wrong way. I'm really interested on how someone could generalize like that...

It's just the usual skier vs. snowboard stuff...
We're in the way - we scrape snow - we sit in the middle of the trail - we have a huge blind spot - devil face graemlins next to the word snowboard - comments on how skiing is better - feeling insulted when someone calls the park a "snowboard" park...

All pretty much words as far as I'm concerned... All the same things that skiers have been saying since I started riding in 1989..

And YES I know I have too much time on my hands... :)

Who cares what anyone does... It's all skiing to me.

Snow Boarding, Skiing, SnowSkating, SnowBiking, Free Heal, MonoBoard - it's just a choice.

(Just saw the Matrix, it rocks)

Haha on that board it is just like a long running joke. The skiers in**** the boarders and yeah it goes the other way to. No problem w/ boarders as long as they are incontrol/ DON'T do anything STUPID (this goes for skiiers as well)

Also FYI at CBack during Xmas week the 1 time a year skiiers come out...Get off the slopes. Most of them stay on the bunny hills but a few escape. All the other times especally nights CBack has many more dumb boarders. And yes I have no problem skiing with a boarder or anything as long as well as I said before there not stupid in there actions

HAHAHA mothball skiers, love it!!
About the skier/boarder issue - my ex is a boarder, he started when we were together, and got very good very fast. We would tease each other about the "knuckledragger" "doubleplanker" thing, but that's it. We had a great time sliding. I remember us riding up with a ?50something? year old couple on the lift, they were skiers, and they completely sterotyped boarders, talking about why those "boarders" do those "jumps". I think it :badwords: me off more then my ex, so of course, I had to open my big mouth and say something politely. I ski alot with my dad, and we really enjoy watching boarders and skiers doing tricks, etc. You hear way too many negative comments from people. OK, enough said. :beermug:

Maybe to you - but old habits die hard.. Like I said - been defending snowboarding since 1989... This argument is a pain in the :bum: to web board moderators.

Try getting banned from a hill or trail and see how it feels... I preach equality in skiing.. No trail or ski area should be off limits to anyone that follows the rules and respects others.

Thank god for TUX - the great equalizer... Never had this argument while hanging up at TUX.. Maybe thats why we all get along so well. 99% of us are past what we ride on and understand the soul of what we collectivly do and love.

True DMC. at Tucks were all just enjoying and 'surviving' some fabulous terrain and vistas.

Whether your :snowboarding: :skifemcool: :tube: :toboggan: or :chair: , everyone gets along :lunchrocks: . Mind you :toboggan: is generally discouraged as too dangerous... oops...

DMC - it does really ucsk that you've had to defend something you love so much. It's just not right. I've held out a pole to many a snowboarder on the flats, and everyone of them has voiced their appreciation - old, young, and in-between. To me, it's all about respect and having fun. Why can't everyone just get along? Is it really that difficult?

I wont get P.O'd... In this day of age - I just get curious when I sense someone generalizes about snowboarders..

Thanks km - Believe me - things have gotten A LOT better when it comes to riding... So much so that I dont feel like a "rebel" anymore ;)

We seriously battled in the early 90's to gain access to ski areas and trails. In the late 90's when the new school ski thing was hopping - we battled to let skiers have access to the snowboard parks too.. I mean - what snowboarder wasnt impressed when they first saw a bump skier pull a mute grab!

I have an old Burton teeshirt from 1995 that lists all the ski areas that didnt allow riding then... Every time an area allowed - I gladly crossed it out with a magic marker. Only MRG, Alta, Taos and Dear Valley remain.. So out of 1000 ski areas only a small handfull havent let us in - not bad (IMHO)

But all the while - we had TUX... :) I'll never forget my first run down the Chute on a snowboard.. I was in a panic just trying to strap my old Sims bindings on and actually had to :ducttape: the buckles so they wouldnt pop on a hard turn.. But once I got going - I was sold..

time to crack another beer... My ski house opens next weekend - gotta get into drinking practice!

Peace - y'all!

In this day of age - I just get curious when I sense someone generalizes about snowboarders..Just to make sure everyone knows this I have no problem with snowboarders, skiiers, bladers, ect ect....As long as there not idiots. Yeah when a skiier cuts you off it :badwords: you off and it is the same when a snowboarder does it. But where i come from more boarders seem to do the dumb things. Anyway when I went to tucks no was was dumb, no was acted like an a moron and everyone got along. Then again at tucks I don;t think that you get the mothball skiiers or the other crazy people...too much work hiking up ;)
