http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/schlitz.gif Anyone up for Doing Jay on Sat/Sun this weekend? I'm taking a bet that magical Jay Cloud will produce some goods over the next few days.
Mind you, it's supposed to get VERY cold on Saturday.
Wildscottsman and I are getting a room up there somewhere to save time on driving for Sat night. ANy others willing to share the room are welcome.
edit: Face it... I'm really feelin the jones for some good alpine skiing!

:)Hey... maybe we could meet up and ski a few runs? I know some sleepy glades that hopefully haven't been too abused lately.
Jay's gonna be bulletproof this weekend, weather's been sucking hard since tuesday night. THe mountain got plenty of coverage but the rain/freeze is gonna make it a very, very, very hard surface this weekend.

Dave/Jay, VTWow..... after reading Affix's post on Astro's Mt. Wash 2/18 thread about the winds AND your post..... I think I might shoot myself! (just kidding)
I feel like Nancy Kerrigan after getting wapped in the knees....

Hey PWDR8S, if you're not committed. Take off to the great white north.

Jay was OK this past weekend. I would say BJ needs another foot or so. All upper mtn glades were doable, some better than others. I got spun by some pucker and ended my day early on sunday. There is a NASTY ice crust under those freshies. Watch out acl tearing drainages down low specifically while entering/exiting lower mtn glades & fallen trees not covered by this years weak snowpack.

Thanks for the input.... I got all hot n bothered looking at the photo's of the day over the past few days that I really got the jones. I'll rethink the Jay plans now.
Very good notes Phishing... Wildscottsman would def not want to add anymore damage to his ACL just for a few flakes.
It's been pretty much snowing on the mountain since the precip began today. Rain just turned to snow at my place, 1 mile from the gate. SO the weekend might not be a wash/freeze after all. Forecasters agree that it will be -0F, so dress warm.
Unless the weather changes (again!), I'll be skinning up the longtrail to the peak at pre-dawn on Sat, one run down the vermonter and then try a few laps at the nearby no-lift mountain. There was plenty of snow this week, but I don't how well it held up during the Wednesday afternoon- Thursday morning thaw.
If I can, I'll probably have the same agenda on Sunday. Have fun.
