Check out the Headwall shots (http://www.chauvinguides.com/PhotoArchive/condphotoarchive.cfm), too crunchy for my skis, but I'll be there on the 16th to climb that stuff.

Sadly, that was before they recieved 4.59 inches of rain. I guess thats good if you into ice climbing. Not good for skiing

Not too soon I hope. Climbers love this place too, but their window of opportunity is just 3-4 weeks. A lot of snow in early November wipes out the climbing, and as happened last year can kill a few.

I count myself extra lucky in that I get three frozen seasons in Tucks. Ice climbing, Winter Skiing and spring skiing.....there's better summer climbing in Huntington Ravine, or I'd probably get four seasons in Tucks.

Hmmm. I think we still need some more :snowflakes: before it's skiable. My edges may be sharp but they're not THAT sharp!

Yesterday, on the chat, "Zack" gave us this pic of the Headwall (Chute in particular) taken on oct 25.

Really amazing, this was surely skiable !

Thanks Zack !

What???????? Yikes - Thats some dust on crust (over sharp rocks) if I ever saw it.... I just talked of the little part of the Chute. Considering the summer rocks in that place, if it was so much white, it was *probably* "skiable", being very careful ;)

Let me dream, at least ;)

Hey Franko, where's that last pic from? That :snowflakes: looks nicely consolidated. This was taken on the top of the Upper "swoop", at Bretton Woods, yesterday

Yeah, they pushed enough snowmaking to open before Killington, so it looks like there is a ton of stuff still remaining !

I hiked the Franconia Ridge today, and there is probably 3 SMALL (largest about 10ft long) visible patches of snow. Absolutely nothing on Cannon today. The ?west? side of Washington didn't appear to have any white on it either, with binocs. Although it was a beautiful day, it's just not the same as a huge snowstorm, or even a few flakes, for that matter. Sorry people for the downer. :(

Anyone seen more Bretton Woods pictures???

I've seen the one from last Thursday, but are there any others? A web cam maybe? And is the whole trail decently covered, or just one or two bumps here & there?

edit to add: not confused, just a lot of questions
