Ish.... it was a little bit different than the pic of this morning... and effectively, it was a snowmaking test... BUT !! It was skiable on 300' high, on a black run and as M@ said, even though there was some grass areas, it really was a blast and it was just too cool, after 140 days without feeling the snow under my skis !!!!

There was about 4-6" of snow, on the patches, up to 8-10" in one of the patches.

So the pic of this morning :

This afternoon : whoops

http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus/messages/2508/2820.jpg

The West 70 had more snow than the Nordique, so I only skied this one. The snow was enough wet, but not like slush, except on the bottom completely. The grass areas were sliding just like some snow, so they were not big problems.

Photo of me by me (lol) on the top : see link

Unfortunately, this pic s**** but this is me, *skiing* the lower patch, but I couldn't ski decently as there was almost no snow below this patch, so it would have been dangerous to take a normal position ;)

So that's it... I did 4 runs, for a total of 1200' high and my skis don't have scratches, cause there is not a single rock and the grass is perfect, in this trail ! hehehe

2 boarders went on the slope, about 1h after me, but I was the very first one to ski this season, cause there was not a single track on the snow when I arrived. woohoo !!

Thanks a lot for the good words on the other thread :) :) :) :) :) :skicool:

Let's pray for snowfalls !!!!! and I hope you will get your first tracks soon !!!!

LOL Good one Frankosnow! :1stracks:

Who is that with you? Now many turns or partial 'turn' could you make?

http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus/messages/2508/2823.jpg
I notice you brought your :iceaxe: . Was it really necessary? Come on now Sauveur is in the Laurentians for Pete's sake! Yet you forgot your :helmet: .

Oh well, congrats Franko, good job, have a few :keg: :keg: on us pal!

PS. Nope you didn't have to play hooky from your studies to win first snow.

Dave, I don't know who it was... they were 2 boarders that heard about the snow... it's all I know. They brought their shovel + all their stuff to make some jumps. They were completing 2 jumps when I left the hill.

Yeah, for the helmet, I knew there was some snow on the hill at 2h30 PM. I wrote the message at 2h34 and I left the house at about 2h50. So I just took the essential to fly in the north as fast as possible (not on the road, though... just 110km/h as there was policemen checking...)

Anyway, I never skied with a helmet yet (bought it this summer)

For the school, I had no courses today, cause the teacher is somewhere else in north america... what a good idea to delay the course to thursday :D :D :D :D LOL

And for the turns. There was about 1000-1200' long of skiing and it was possible to turn even on the grass, so it was sliding... lol... so I could have done close to 100 turns if I wanted. I did at max may be 40 turns, but I wanted to go fast !!

Man, I should have waited another day, I think !!

This is Tremblant this morning ... and this is just the lower mountain. I know this trail (Flying Mile) and I can tell you that to be white like that, it needs at least 4-6" of snow... and they forecast another good 2" this morning.

Hmm, powder tracks not for me... don't have the time to make this twice :( :envy: :envy: :envy: :envy: :envy: :envy:

Honestly, I wonder it me too... I guess they thought there would be some big ice...

But they did all their job with their shovels.

Here is a pic of them, (from the MSS website)

Congrats. We're all :envy: . I'm still wondering about that :iceaxe: though... I think the axe was a rake that the snowboard guys brought up with em. Unless of course paul bunyon was skiing that day.
