Anyone want my Bomber bindings? They don't suit my personal style of skiing, so I'm selling them. Used less than 10 days, great condition, with leashes and I'll even throw in a second ski kit.

PM or post if interested.

Is the Bishop too stiff? :)

I'm interested in taking up tele next season and am starting to pay attention to discussion regarding setup.

Have yet to try these robotic wonders, What didn't you like about 'em? At the moment I'm partial to my HH's...

Steve, it's not that the Bomber is too active; in terms of assistance in breaking the bellows, it seems like it's a relatively neutral binding. If there's a way to get more activity out of it than the 3rd pivot pos, I don't know it. It's very rigid -- it makes rolling a ski on edge very easy. For firmer snows and carving, they're about ideal.

It's hard to say what I don't like about them. Folks I know and respect love and rip on them. Personally, I find myself skiing at my worst with them on my feet. Maybe it's like the s-bounds -- maybe I'm all alone in the dark in thinking that -- but I have more fun on my other bindings, so I'm looking to give someone else a turn on the Bombers.

Justin,

I too prefer HH's. I run my in pivot point 5 for maximum active loading and I use a softer boot that is more comfortable for the tour. The active loading makes up for the lack of boot stiffness and still gets good loading onto the front of the ski.

I have demoed the BB's and found that they are so solid in lateral support that if you do not use a stiff boot and a strong control of your angulation, movement of the ski on the irregular snow surface will transmit through the binding and take over control of your whole leg/ankle/boot/ski interface. Those of us that learned in leather and on 60mm skis don't like that feel. I've never been an alpine skier. My guess would be that experienced alpiners who haven't gotten used to a cable binding would find the BB with T-Racers to be the best choice for a performance t'mark setup.

I am guessing that El-Bagr is in the "what ever happened to leather boots" category.

Interesting Tommy, I've heard over and over about the lateral rigidness of the BB, I must say i'd like to at least try them -- I was (and still am occasionally) a Alpine skier and have a pair of Traces and T2's. Ideally i'd like to get rid of the T2's for a T3 or even leathers for touring with my outtas.

My binding experience is limited to:

G3's - Don't like at all
02's - I could ski these
R8's - I like these
HH - best thus far

I prefer them in this very order.

Hey, we keep it fresh and on top of the listing. El-Bagr gets the publicity for his sale and we don't have to admit in a thread that people might actually be following that we are technocratic nerds, not wool knicker wearing, klistervax users.

I loved the O2 until mine were recalled mid-season. I replaced them with the HH and am very pleased with everything except the sort of neo-industrial age appearance.

Tommy's right on. The full-grain leathers still get out fairly often, though the split-grain leathers have been replaced by ultralight nylons. Like skiing in slippers, which is great. My 63mm skis get a lot of use -- in fact, I've gone even skinnier this season than last.

Skiing 3-pins from the ankles << Hammerhead/Hardwire < Bomber.
