Cheap sliding is good. That $59 day ticket at Killington last Friday was a bit steep. I think I will be spending a lot of time in the backcountry this year.

Ditto..... I made a serious B/C equipment investment this year just to avoid the +$50 lift tickets and crowds.

If I wanted to go bowling K-Mart is the right place!

Indeed, my favorite spot is the trail junction right above the Canyon Quad chair. I like to get up a good head of steam, tuck down low, and watch the gapers fly up into the air. If you hit them good, their helmets/heads will knock together and make that fine, authentic bowling lane sound. :yardsale:

Jeebus, I already started filling up at Mobil for the winter.

I think the river was $35 bones last saturday? Dont know for sure because mine was lumped into a ski and stay. Speaking of, I learned a neat trick:

Book a ski and stay package there, and pick up your tickets the morning before you check in, mine were printed for the next day (They must assume that most people stay, then ski.) The hampster fell out of the wheel of every liftie that tried to scan it, but no one stopped me from skiing. Next day the ticket is valid.

Cannon is still the best thing going for cheap skiing all week.

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS - 2 for $54
On Tuesday & Thursday, buy 2 adult lift tickets for $54!
Not valid on December 27, 2005 or December 29, 2005.

WEDNESDAYS N.H. RESIDENT'S DAY- $20
New Hampshire residents ski/board for just $20!
Not valid on December 28, 2005 or February 22, 2006.

The bonus here is you appear far less guilty calling in sick on a tuesday-thursday than you do on a monday or a friday trying to extend the weekend.

You speak the truth. It's also one of the best places to ski in the NE.

Heh.. you should never feel guilty skipping work to ski. Now skipping a friends wedding to ski *might* be reason enough to feel guilty. But work, def not.

Notice I said that I "appear" less guilty. I never admitted to actually feeling guilty.

Good point. It appears that I missed that word ;)

So when are we hitting up Cannon? I was thinking of going to the demo day there on the 16th if they get enough terrain open to make it worthwhile.

Stowe: $76

How the hell is this even justified?

How the hell is this even justified? In 1967 and 1968 a week end lift ticket cost 6 bucks, Mt Mansfield Ski Club rate. Five on the weekdays I played hookey and hitched up from Mass. The whippings I got were nothing, I was already too wasted from skiing all day.

That's why I patrol. I didn't want to give up my crack habit.
