I introduce Affix to my friend who I first did Tucks with a long time ago..

We laughed about how unprepared we were.... We essentially hiked up - froze our assess off - got scared and hiked down... Didn't make a turn...

I blamed the experience on the lack of the internet...

I can't imagine how we'd survive without the Internet now. I'd be out of a job too!

Dear Santa,

Our Christmas wish list is short. Please just keep the Internet running and save yourself a trip down our filthy chimney.

PS. Don't worry about the cookies, I'll email them to you in the new year.

Actually I think the only info I had about Tucks was a small paragraph in Ski Magazine.. And a couple brief barroom, firsthand stories..

My first time - far less of a clue. Had an old highschool type backpack, used some laundry rope to tie the skiis on. Did a few turns on hillmans... wow was I clueless.

I have no internet at work. Won't likely anytime soon. Still love my job...almost as much as my wife and skiing.

First trip to Tuck: 20+ years ago in May with 207 Rossi ST comps bungied to a Camp Trails External Frame pack and an equal amount of beer and umm, ah, combustibles inside. Two runs over the lip and I was hooked. What can I say for chemically induced courage?

Sounds a lot like my 1st TUX experience..... similar 'equipment' http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

As for internet? I would likely be in this line of work but working the phones heavily...... Also, I wouldn't have met this great wild bunch of crazies on T4T! Now more so, the internet fuels my biz and my ability to gather intel. Face it, I'm a knowledge junky. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

My first run was preceeded by watching a friend say: "Me first", take two turns and then fall from the lip to the lunch rocks.

A friend of mine has a better "First trip" story:

Early April, hike to the summit, ski the snow fields, argue about which way to go and then head over what they thought was the lip. After a few turns the pass a few ice climbers. They were heading into Huntington
