Just got my November copy of the AMC rag:

Articles:
1. Detailed account of 3/7/04 ski tragedy in Pipeline Gully.
2. First Aid Essentials
3. Wlderness survival skills, with links to all SOLO and AMC courses.
4. Cell phone/GPS navigation.

The Pipeline article alone is worth the price of admission. Unfortunately this issue is not yet on the AMC Outdoor.org website

Thanks, excellent info. on the facts of the tragedy. The Outdoors article elaborates further and there is an editorial that discusses the politics of reporting on disaster.

One criticism I have: There is a photo of a telemarker in one of the GG gullies (on a happy day) - without helmet! It's a free country, but come now!
