You (or your spouse as the case may be) spills paint all over your ski gear and the carpet, and the gear is what gets cleaned.

The General ski discussion board once again gets higher traffic than the Off Piste (off season list, because what else would we be doing during ski season) forum.

Photos of snowy mountains are greeted with exclamations of anticipation rather than envy.

Planned trips switch from gardening the slopes to reaping what has been sown.

First tracks have been had on Mount W.

(anyone else?)

My (part time) boss is *****ing because he'll have to pay for the cat next time I go up "The Rock Pile" to work on his (or one of his customers') radio systems instead of me taking http://timefortuckerman.com/photopost/data/765/1107home_sweet_truck-med.jpg

At least one more paid trip up The Rock pile this fall. Time to say no to the second job. Put away the tool box, watt meter and climbing harness and dust off the skis!

When you suddenly realize that you are ill prepared and run around collecting all your gear in hopes that the storm IS going to dump snow, not rain

My gear rests at the end of my bed like a loyal dog......It is always close at hand. :)
